I was a social worker in the NICU at Providence Alaska Medical Center for the past 16 years, and am intimately knowledgeable about what families may experience in the NICU. I also covered the high-risk prenatal unit along with the mother/baby unit. For 10 years I worked with the Cystic Fibrosis Clinic, which is part of the sub-specialty clinics at Providence.

I have had a lot of training about grief issues in all stages of life. For two years, I was part of an intensive treatment team for a child with autism.

For the past four months, I have been working as the LEAP Coordinator for PIC.  Prior to moving to Alaska, I worked as an early childhood educator in several settings, including working for the Kansas State Preschool program, and with Early Head Start. 

I have had training in the areas of development of children ages 0-5, preschool special education, and the importance of movement in learning. 

Jeanne Meinert Early Intervention Specialist/Physical Therapist B.S. in Physical Therapy; Master of Public Health in Maternal and Child Health.

More than 20 years as a physical therapist in pediatrics and early intervention in both urban and rural/remote areas; Managed a grant project that provided evaluations and consultation to early intervention staff and families with infants and toddlers with disabilities in rural/remote Alaska.

Pediatric Advanced TAMO (Tscharnuter Akademie for Movement Organization) course: NDT trained 8-week course, 3-week baby course and 2-week NDT advanced course on the treatment of lower extremity and gait problems; dynamic splinting of the lower extremities, and, continuing education courses on a variety of topics including kinesio taping, respiration/rib cage/postural control, manual therapy, positioning, attachment and early relationships with infants and toddlers, strengthening and supporting families; oral motor/feeding, sensory integration and autism, infant mental health, etc.

Iliamna for a year as a special education assistant for behavioral children, ages 5-12. I have been working in the field of Early Childhood since 1997.

Kimberly Buron Early Intervention Specialist/Development Specialist University of Idaho: B.S. Child Development and Family Relations and B.S. Psychology I graduated in May, 2005 and started working here in Anchorage in August of '05 for a Child Development Center. I worked as an Early Childhood Educator in the infant as well as preschool classrooms and was also the center's Child Development Leader and Teacher Director. I have been working in the field of Early Childhood Education and Child Development since 2001. I emphasized my Psychology degree in learning and behavior. I have also had training in all areas of child development, particularly ages 0-5.
